In Spain there are already 44 million people who use the Internet on a regular basis, which means that 90% of the country’s total population is already an Internet user. On average, they spend more than six hours online every day.
Spanish Internet users spend more than 6 hours a day connected to the Net
Searching for information (75%), keeping informed about news and events (64.6%) and looking for tutorials (63.4%) are the main occupations of Spaniards when they spend time online. Google Chrome is the most used browser (72.7%), followed by Safari (14.4%) and Firefox (3.83%).
These are some of the many conclusions drawn from the “Digital 2022 Report” published by Hootsuite and We Are Social. The social network management platform and the creative agency previously released the data from its annual study at a global level, but now they have detailed their results at a national level and thus collect the main trends of Internet and use of social networks in Spain today.
According to the data shown in the report, at present Spain has 40.7 million social network users3.3 million more than the previous year, equivalent to 87.1% of the Spanish population.
In terms of social network usage, Spaniards spend an average of 1 hour and 53 minutes per day. WhatsApp with 91% and Facebook, with 73.3% are the most used social networks, followed by Instagram with 71.7%.
According to the report, almost 91% of Spanish users consume monthly streaming TV content through platforms such as Netflix. On average, they already spend 1 hour and 15 minutes a day watching this type of platforms.
The Digital 2022 report in Spain also points out that 90.4% of users access the Internet through a smartphone, while 83.5%, do so through computers.
There are more than 55 million mobile lines in Spain, with the average Internet connection speed being 34.30 Mbps.
