They propose to use the complex universal indicator DOSI (Dynamic Organism State Indicator). This would allow them to evaluate biological aging. They reviewed thousands of data from longitudinal analysis of human blood. They came from the US National Health and Nutrition Survey and the UK Biobank. They discovered that the fluctuations in the DOSI indicator are related to certain variables. The age, the presence of diseases and the lifestyle.
They calculated that the maximum possible life expectancy is between 120 and 150 years. «Human aging has universal properties. They are inherent in complex systems on the verge of decay. This work uses concepts from the natural sciences. They can be used in biology to study different aspects of aging and frailty. We do this so that we can take effective action against aging. We conclude that criticality leading to death is an intrinsic biological property of the organism. And it doesn’t depend on stressors.
