While Netflix is trying to curb the loss of subscribers with new pricing plans, including a more affordable one that will add advertising, it also proposes to strengthen a bet that goes beyond movies and series: video games.
Video games appear on Netflix integrated into an additional channel, available only from mobile devices
And this despite the fact that Netflix video games do not seem to have many users within the platform (just 1.7 million among its 200 million subscribers), where they appear as an additional channel, but only in the apps installed on mobile devices.
After their appearance in 2021 it was announced that this year 2022 there would be half a hundred titles and that announcement is complemented by the agreement reached by Netflix and Ubisoft which, for the time being, includes the launch of three new video games on the Netflix platform, games that will be exclusive to Netflix subscribers and will lack ads and in-app purchases.
The title that generates the most expectation is a new installment of the popular “Assassin’s Creed” saga of which no further details have been provided and which will serve as a complement to the live-action series that will premiere soon on the streaming platform.
Another title announced is a sequel to “Valiant Hearts: The Great War” and finally “The Mighty Quest” will appear, a continuation of “The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot” inspired by the dungeon crawler genre, which promises a new format in melee combat.
These three new games will appear, as advanced by Netflix, from 2023the company’s entry into the world of video games seems to be consolidated as a medium-term bet.
