Google Maps shows by default to all its users, as soon as they open the app, the location of their home. In this way, it is faster and easier search for distances or routes from home to a specific point without the need to manually enter your home address in each search. In addition to the home address, Google Maps – which this week released the dark mode for iOS – allows you to record the location of your workplace and other addresses you visit frequently.

If you have moved house, it is recommended that you notify Google Maps of this information so that you can continue to use the app comfortably. Although Maps now allows you to mark your location in real time, it is preferable to change the address so that its operation is more effective. Here’s how to do it:
Change your Google Maps home address from your cell phone.
Open the Google Maps app on your mobile and you will see that, in the bottom strip of the screen, a series of icons appear. The middle one, in the form of a label, says “Saved”, and that’s where you must click to enter your address or to change the one you have set.
From the “Home” icon you will be taken to a panel with a series of tabs. There you will be able to enter your favorite places, the places you want to go and the “Tagged”. It is on the latter that you must click to get to a new screen with two options: “Home” and “Work”. Click on the first one.
If you are going to enter your address in Maps for the first time, you must click on the sign where “Home” appears, enter the address in a bar that appears and then save the changes.
On the other hand, if you want to change the address you have set, you must click on the three dots in the upper left corner. When you do this you will see an option that says “Edit home”, and there you can enter your new address and then save the modification.

– Click on “Set a home address” and type the new address in the search bar.
