Types of barcode scanners
Using a barcode reader is very easy: just connect the cable to the computer’s scanner and you don’t have to do anything else. However, as we say, not all barcode scanners are the same and selecting the right one is a challenge. -According to their scanning engine: They can be of three types depending on the technology they employ. On the one hand there is the laser, which uses a red diode to read the black and white spaces of the barcode. On the other hand, there are linear imagers, which only read one-dimensional codes and take an image of the code to read it. -According to its shape: There are the pistol type scanners (the usual ones that we find in stores) but besides that there are other types. You can find the manual pistol -those in which you have to pull the trigger- that exist with cable and wireless.
On the other hand, there are readers that are placed on a piece of furniture or support and you don’t have to pick them up, but just pass the code through the light diode. There are also those that are integrated into the furniture, which also allow them to be used without touching them. Others can be integrated into a conveyor line and remain fixed, so that the codes are passed over them automatically.
