Until now, you could use ChatGPT for free via your computer or mobile phone keyboard. However, from now on you can also use OpenAI’s conversational chat with your voice, executing audio prompts that allow you to maintain an authentic conversation in real time to ask your questions to the AI and receive its answers.
This is a functionality that only subscribers of a paid ChatGPT Plus or Enterprise plan on iPhone or iPad have been able to use. But now – in the midst of controversy over the dismissal and return of its CEO, Sam Altman – OpenAI has announced that the possibility of using ChatGPT voice chat reaches all users, regardless of the device they use, even for those who do not have a paid plan and use the conversational tool for free.
How to use ChatGPT Voice
If you want to use the conversational Artificial Intelligence tool through voice and be able to make your requests to ChatGPT by speaking naturally, what you have to do is the following:
-First of all, you have to download the ChatGPT app on your mobile phone from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. If you already have it installed, make sure you have the latest version installed.
-Click on the icon that identifies with headphones. It is located on the right side of the screen, near the box where messages are written.
-Click on “Choose a Voice”. Here you can hear up to five types of voices (whose names are Breeze, Ember, Cove, Juniper and Sky) and you can select the one you like the most. It will be the ChatGPT voice that you will interact with.
-Just like that, you are ready to have a conversation naturally with ChatGPT’s Artificial Intelligence chatbot. Of course, keep in mind that, for now, you will only be able to use ChatGPT in English. In the future it will be available in other languages.
