Google Bard, ChatGPT’s biggest rival, is extremely useful on its own. With this generative AI it is not only possible to produce original texts, but also to code, analyze data and much more. As if that were not enough, now you also have the google bard extensionscomplements that really serve to optimize productivity.
Thanks to Google Bard extensions, chatbot users can access up-to-date and relevant information while using applications from the Google ecosystem. To be more precise, there are only five Bard extensions available right now, all of them, for now, in English, but many more will emerge in the future.
It is worth mentioning that this quintet of extensions work with YouTube, Google Flights, Google Hotels, Google Maps and Google Workspace. That said, below, we are going to explain how to enable and use the extensions offered by Google’s powerful AI.
How to activate Google Bard extensions
It is important to start by mentioning that all available Bard extensions are enabled by default.
However, this does not happen with Google Workspace, since permissions must be granted to activate its corresponding add-on.
In this way, you must provide access to Bard to be able to use the extension with your Gmail account and, consequently, for it to work with Drive, Docs and the rest of the applications in the Google productivity suite.
So, to enable the Workspace extension from the Bard interface, you just have to click on the puzzle piece icon. Next, press “Workspace” and then “Connect.”
How to use Google Bard extensions
Once the extensions are activated, you can now ask the chatbot, for example, to find the ideal flight for your trip.
In this case, Bard will automatically pull information from Google Flights, although you can also start your message by writing @flights to tell it to use that service. Next, the AI will show you the best options in terms of price, schedule, airline, stopovers, flight duration, etc.
Likewise, you can use Flights and Hotels simultaneously. In this case, the bot will not only indicate the best flights, but also the most suitable alternatives to stay according to the parameters of the trip.
On the other hand, with the Google Maps extension you can get accurate data without even running the app. The extension will be enough to know the exact distance between two points, find nearby places, etc. Likewise, you can combine Maps with the rest of the aforementioned extensions and, for example, obtain a complete itinerary generated by AI.
Finally, it is also useful to note that you can use the YouTube plugin to find videos of your interest easily and quickly. Additionally, you also have the option to add image prompts to get related content. In conclusion, the possibilities are endless, you just have to use your imagination.
