Spanish Television News

The big technology companies in Silicon Valley have announced in recent months major layoffs. The last to do so has been Google, which will lay off 6% of the workforce, and Spotify will also do the same. They are joined by other firms that announced cuts in recent weeks, Microsoft and Amazon, as well as Twitter and Meta, which already made them public at the end of 2022.

Telediario de Televisión Española echoes the news and has the impressions of Manuel Moreno, director of TreceBits.com and expert in social networks:

Other interviews in the TVE news program.

This is not the first time we have participated in the TVE news program, where we usually comment on technological news.

January 2023. The historic fine of 390 million euros that the European Union has imposed on Meta for not obtaining explicit permission from Facebook and Instagram users to show them targeted advertising has been analyzed by Manuel Moreno, director of TreceBits.com and expert in social networks, in the Telediario of Televisión Española (TVE), as you can see here:

November 2022. Finally, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has reached an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of the social network Twitter. The executive, who earlier this month had acquired 9.2% of the platform, had launched 10 days ago a hostile takeover bid to buy the company, which was initially opposed by the Board of Directors.

What has changed and why has an agreement now been reached? Last night Televisión Española’s Telediario did a news piece explaining the acquisition and in which it made a interview with Manuel Moreno, social media expert and director of TreceBits.com.to unravel the particularities of what is, to date, the biggest purchase in the history of technology.

If you missed the piece, you can now do so here:

Musk will shell out $44 billion for the social network. Of this, $25.5 billion will come from his own fortune, while the rest will be provided by investment and financing firms that have already shown their support for the executive, including Morgan Stanley.

The acquisition process is expected to be completed before the end of 2022 and is expected to bring major changes to the management and operation of the social network. We will have to see what new measures the executive will take when he has full control over the platform.

For the time being, he has already stated his intention to turn it into a space where freedom of expression prevails, and has pledged to fight spam, bots and misinformation on the platform. However, he has not indicated how this fight to eradicate an evil that affects most social platforms and that has no easy solution at the moment.

-April 2022. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has made a hostile takeover bid to acquire 100% of Twitter’s shares. The executive had already acquired 9.2% of the shares 10 days ago and now intends to buy the entire company.

Such important information has been the subject of a report broadcasted by the Telediario of Televisión Española in which it is has interviewed Manuel Moreno, expert in social networks and director of TreceBits.com.. If you could not see the news, here is his video:

March 2022.- Long before the day of an important soccer match, social networks begin to heat up the atmosphere and in them the fans of one team or the other face each other in a match in which instead of goals, comments, interactions, responses, memes… are scored…

This has been happening for days before the celebration of the Clasico of La Liga of Spanish professional soccer, which will face Real Madrid and Barcelona tonight at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
