Netflix announced that to keep attracting more viewers in Latin America it will rectify and lower its prices, while continuing to provide its high quality services that have made it a leader in the streaming industry.
The end of shared accounts on Netflix has become a real problem for the platform. Thousands of users do not accept this move by the company and have decided to abandon the service in recent weeks.
The drop in the cost of the plans is remarkable, but the company’s decision hides a little trick.
Now, to remedy the problem a bit, Netflix has opted to lower prices but only in some Latin American countries, in order to avoid massive cancellation of subscriptions.
Now, the trick of the company’s decision is that the discount will not apply to all of Latin America, they only chose some countries. In addition, the amount varies in each area, the discount will not be the same for all.
These are the new pricing plans in the different Latin American countries where Netflix has adopted the measure.
Bolivia, Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Paraguay.
– Basic Plan: from $7.99 to $3.99.
– Standard: from $10.99 to $5.99.
– Premium: $13.99 to $7.99.
Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Honduras.
– Basic Plan: from $8.99 to $4.99.
– Standard: from $12.99 to $8.99.
– Premium: from $15.99 to $12.99.
Panama
– Basic Plan: from $7.99 to $4.99.
– Standard: from $10.99 to $7.99.
– Premium: from $13.99 to $10.99.
The countries that have obtained a higher discount (between 50 and 40%) were Bolivia, Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Paraguay. Something that is strange is that Argentina has not yet entered the new Netflix prices, and this despite the fact that it was one of the first countries where they canceled the shared accounts.
Netflix points out that they are aware that users need more options and benefits to continue enjoying the service. As far as Spain is concerned, so far, there is no news of discounts or new lanes to be applied in the country.
Most likely, Netflix is studying the effect that the rebates will have in order to apply them in other parts of the world.
