However, perhaps the most outstanding premiere for this first weekend of February is that of A Knock at the Doorthe new film by M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, The forest), in which the filmmaker returns to his genre: mystery… with a touch of horror. Leading the film is Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, Blade Runner 2049).

Perhaps, we were saying, for although the two films we have posted are undoubtedly better than the new adaptation of the most popular European how-to in history. In addition, Asterix and Obelix and the Middle Kingdom. have behind them nothing less than the power of Tutatis. As bad as it is, which it will be… as long as it’s fun, they’ve got it made.

The second week of February sees the release of one of the most anticipated films of recent months because of the queue it brings: The Fabelmanthe semi-autobiographical film with which the master of the seventh art Steven Spielberg recently won a couple of Golden Globes… and seven Oscar nominations, which is an understatement. Love for cinema.

On the other hand, if you’re not into melodrama and prefer action and adventure, Gerard Butler (300, Target: The White House) returns to the big screen starring in one of his typical films in which you won’t find anything new, but which are usually a guarantee of throwaway entertainment: The Pilot. He is accompanied by Mike Colter (Luke Cage).

More of the same guaranteed.

Not into superheroic rehashes and prefer something with more substance? The triangle of sadness may be a good choice. February 24 movie releases

To end February, a Spanish film… but not the typical one, and it is that Irati is a Basque production of adventures in the Middle Ages, in the style of the classic “cloak and dagger” Conan, no less, and shot entirely in Basque. Be careful, because in the last few years Basque cinema has left us some fantastic films.

We jump from Spain to the United States to mention the premiere of Terrifier 2the sequel to one of the horror movie phenomena of recent years, with the clown element as a common thread and with the approval of the specialized critics, as it has already been released in other countries. A slasher of the murky ones, one supposes.

And we return to Spain to finish the monthly review with a national production for the little ones of the house, who also deserve their time of recreation and whatever comes up in the venerable celluloid theaters. February is not a month very prone to releases of this kind and Mummies is, at least a priori, one of the most interesting things to come out.
