There are numerous tools and platforms that make learning an interactive and more fun experience. Among these is Kahoot!, an educational platform and game-based learning platform that allows teachers and students to create, share and participate in interactive quizzes.

Kahoot allows both teachers and students to create, share and participate in interactive quizzes

Kahoot! was launched in 2013 by a group of Norwegian entrepreneurs with the goal of transforming the way students engage in the classroom and tackle educational challenges.

This platform has become a must-have tool in classrooms as it combines the fun of games with learning, thus creating a participatory and motivating environment for students.

How Kahoot!

The functioning of Kahoot! is quite simple. It is composed of three main elements: the creator, the presenter and the players.

-Creator: Teachers or content creators are the ones who design the interactive quizzes and games. They can include multiple choice questions, true or false questions, short answer questions, among others. In addition, they can add images and videos to make the content even more attractive.

-Presenter: The presenter is in charge of showing the game on screen and reading the questions aloud. It can be the teacher or any other student designated for that role.

-Players: Players are the students who participate in the game. They can join the game by entering a specific code on their devices, such as computers, tablets or smartphones. Once the game has been started, students must answer the questions within the set time.

The dynamics of Kahoot! is very simple. Each question is presented on the main screen and players must select the correct answer on their device. At the end of each question, a real-time ranking is displayed, which creates a friendly and fun competition between participants and motivates them to excel.

In addition to real-time interactive games Kahoot also offers the possibility to assign homework and quizzes for students to complete individually. This allows teachers to evaluate the progress of each student and adapt their teaching according to individual needs.
